Up to 90 percent of small businesses are actively trying to become more energy efficient, study finds

Almost nine in ten small businesses are actively trying to become more energy efficient, figures from a recent survey carried out by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has been able to find.

Data from the research also suggests that, despite 78% of those surveyed citing cost saving as their reason behind their move to become greener, a staggering 70% claimed the move was driven by the desire to help the planet and that knowing they were supporting the environment was a huge motivator for implementing the changes.

The study by the FSB found that 45% of businesses could not introduce new energy efficient practices as they didn’t own their business premise and were not authorised to make changes. 20% were also unaware of the extent of the changes that they could make and the greener options available to them.
