Scarborough Borough residents have managed to achieve significant savings on their energy bills by joining a ‘Collective Switch’ scheme set up by the local council, a news report in the local media has been able to suggest.
The scheme set up by the council and its switching partner iChoosr is free to use, without obligation and makes it easy to switch energy provider, meaning many families will be able to fix their energy prices for the year ahead.
Cllr Bill Chatt, Scarborough Borough Council Cabinet Member for Public Health and Housing said:
“We’re hoping for another really successful auction. Last time 98% of people registering were able to make savings on their energy bills and the average saving per resident was £217 per year.”
