Smaller energy suppliers getting more customers after “Big Six” pushed up prices
The UK’s smaller energy suppliers have already started to reap the benefits of the decision by the “Big Six” companies to push up prices in the form of a solid flow of new customers, a brand new media report has revealed.
In fact, it seems that close to 150,000 customers have decided to change suppliers and opted for a contract with a smaller firm that offers better tariffs. The report also suggests that, out of the UK’s largest suppliers, French-owned EDF (that, incidentally, announced the smallest price hike to date), gained the largest number of customers.
Most of the smaller suppliers declined to say how many people had switched away from using their services, although most of them suggested that ratio between customers who left and new customers was clearly in their favor.
