New Ofgem rules for energy bills will actually leave customers worse off
Regulations imposed by Ofgem’s Retail Market Review might actually leave some of SSE’s customers worse off than before, since many of them will have to be moved to different, more expensive tariffs, in order for the energy supplier to be able to comply with the new rules.
The new set of rules set by Ofgem limit energy suppliers to offering four different tariffs and were meant to reduce bills by forcing suppliers to put customers on their cheapest rate.
However, as a news report in the media has revealed, 175,000 SSE household customers were officially informed by the energy supplier that they would have to be moved to a different tariff, while some customers who’ve signed up with Atlantic, one of SSE’s retail brands, will be moved to tariffs up to £100 more expensive.
Despite this unfortunate situation, the DECC maintains its point of view, one of its spokespersons saying that “Overall these reforms will lead to a fairer and more efficient energy market. They will simplify tariffs and cut confusion and provide clearer information to help people compare and switch.”
Given this state of things, it’s becoming quite clear that people who actually want to start saving money on their energy bills should very seriously consider the implementation of an energy management system that enables them to do so, and this is exactly where HeatingSave can help.
The HeatingSave system allows home owners to cut energy bills by up to an impressive 30%+. It is built around the idea of optimizing the energy consumption levels within any area with the help of an advanced heat-loss algorithm that creates a specific profile for any building and based on that, switches heating on later if its warm and off earlier if its cold.
Additionally, the automatic occupancy detection allows the temperature to reduce to a background when areas are not used and quickly brought up to temperature when they are being used.
If you’d like to find out more information on the HeatingSave system and the way in which one can take advantage of it, just contact our dedicated team, they’ll be more than happy to answer all of the questions and queries you might have.
