Lack of energy efficiency leads to billions of pounds being wasted
Energy efficiency systems and measures could help UK households save as much as £1.4 billion a year, recent figures published by the Energy Savings Trust were able to reveal.
Households could slash a significant amount of money on the long term by optimizing the way in which their boiler works, putting in efficient LED lights and also turning off appliances when not in use.
“Most of us know that to cut our energy bills we should turn things like televisions and computer monitors off at the wall rather than leaving them in standby mode, which consumes power even when they’re not being used,” says Gavin Munro, communications manager at smart meter manufacturer Efergy Technologies.
“But smaller gadgets and appliances quietly running in the background could be pushing your energy bills up much faster than you realised.”
HeatingSave is approved to work and save fuel within the Energy Technology List, which is managed by the Carbon Trust on behalf of the Government. It is also approved by the Department of Energy & Climate Change and the Energy Savings Trust and was specified by the Building Research Establishment for the energy efficient homes retro-fit program, called The Greenhouse Project.
Last, but certainly not least, it’s important to mention that HeatingSave is a component part of the Government’s Green Deal program.
