Consumers’ trust in energy suppliers records slight growth

Energy suppliers are slowly starting to regain some of the public confidence they’ve lost over the past couple of years, results from a recent survey carried out by the DECC have been able to reveal.

Data published in the DECC Public Attitudes Tracker survey revealed that more than 54% of people now trust suppliers to give them a fair deal and 69% of us believe our supplier will give us an accurate bill, this is up from 63% in December 2013.

Further data suggests that two-thirds of UK households don’t plan to switch suppliers this year either, while the percentage of those planning on switching remains stable at just 4%.

Renewable energy sources continue to receive high levels of support with 76% of UK adults supporting the use of renewable power sources to generate electricity, fuel and heat in the UK.
