Burton’s OAPs receive energy saving advice and help as part of the Big Energy Saving Week

Elderly people in Burton will receive help and advice on saving energy and cutting bills as part of the Big Energy Saving Week 2015, a news report in the local media has been able to find.

Citizens Advice East Staffordshire has signed up to Big Energy Saving Week and chiefs are keen to help people, especially pensioners, save money.

People are being urged to swot up on how to save money and help elderly relatives or neighbours get a better deal.

Philip Sellwood, chief executive of the Energy Saving Trust, said: “What’s most concerning is that a fifth of the people we spoke to said they were aware an elderly person they looked after had fallen behind or been unable to pay their energy bills.”
