Building energy management system cuts carbon emissions by up to a third

A new scheme designed to increase green capital investment means incentive payments will be available to households from October 2012. The tariffs, called the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), involve payments being paid for 20 years based on every kilowatt hour of renewable heat produced. The government wants to reduce dependency on gas to reduce energy imports as well as cutting carbon emissions.

Gas customers wanting to reduce their consumption can try the Energy Saving Trust-recommended HeatingSave House & Home Boiler Control System, which is only £428 plus VAT when purchased online. The building energy management system (BEMS) works with most types of natural gas, oil or LPG boilers. Once installed, the HeatingSave controller constantly reads the temperature from sensors connected to the flow and return pipe of your boiler, hot water tank and outside your home to learn about the heat loss profile of your house. This is so HeatingSave can make your central heating system more efficient while drastically reducing fuel usage and the carbon emissions of your home.
