HeatingSave Building Management Systems – Keep on Top of Your Energy Spending Even During a Cold Spell

Building management systems can help companies and organizations stay on top of their energy expenditures even when faced with a prolonged period of very cold weather, such as the one that’s likely to affect the UK in January and February 2020.

According to multiple news reports on the matter, climate experts at University College London have studied current sea temperatures and a weather system over the north Atlantic, predicting extreme weather for the UK. They say a freezing vortex of Arctic air is expected to hit the country in the next four months, seeing temperatures plunging to their lowest in decades. Forecasters predict it could be colder than the Beast from the East, which saw temperatures in the Cairngorms in Scotland drop to -14°C.

If the Arctic air moves into the UK this winter, it is likely to bring icy temperatures and snow that could last weeks, scientists said.

Led by Professor Mark Saunders, the UCL team issued the following statement: ‘This would rank the 2020 January-February central England temperature as the coldest winter since 2013.’ They added: ‘It would also rank January-February 2020 as the seventh coldest winter in the past 30 years. ‘There is a 57 per cent chance the central England temperature will be colder than in 2018, thus making it the coldest January-February since 2013.’

HeatingSave – the perfect BMS to help you keep warm, save energy and money

If you’d like to limit your exposure to the adverse effects cold weather will have on your organization’s energy usage, then HeatingSave is the best solution out there.

The HeatingSave energy management system will allow users to save anywhere between 20% and 30+%, by optimizing consumption levels across their homes. This is achieved with the help of our proprietary, advanced heat-loss algorithm that’s capable of self-learning the heating characteristics of each heating zone within one’s home.

From this, HeatingSave can work out how to run the heating more efficiently to cut fuel bills, while the occupancy sensors included in the package also only heat the areas that are being used.

Furthermore, HeatingSave works on most types of central heating systems that use natural gas, oil, solid fuel (such as anthracite), electricity or LPG, but will also control renewable heating systems, such as air & ground source and wood burners.

The system is approved by both the Energy Saving Trust, the Carbon Trust and selected by the BRE (Building Research Establishment) for the Greenhouse Project, proving once more its high level or reliability.
