Energy-efficient heating systems to be installed across UK social housing stock
Over 1,000 social homes across the UK are set to have energy-efficient heating systems installed as part of the UK GIB’s (Green Investment Bank) latest project, a news source could reveal.
The fresh £5 million fund is the GIB’s first investment in the nation’s social housing sector, which will see highly efficient heating systems fitted in up to 28 developments.
Bill Rogers, Managing Director at UK GIB said: “The project will bring cost savings, carbon savings and provide the social landlord with the practical benefits of outsourcing its energy arrangements. This is a model we’d like to see rolled out at scale across the rest of the UK.”
The HeatingSave Building Energy Management System helps customers save more than 30% on their bills by optimizing any heating system’s overall functionality. This is done by taking into account a variety of factors, such as internal and external temperatures, occupancy, time of the year, the particular characteristics of installed boilers, etc. All of the data is used in order to determine the best heating patterns for the various heating zones within any building, using our proprietary heat-loss algorithm.
The end result is that users still get a very good level of comfort, while in the same time saving energy and money in the process.
