Central Heating Fund helps West Cornwall residents enjoy warmer homes

Residents in St Just and Redruth are now able to enjoy warmer and nicer homes after using £2.3 million of funding from the Central Heating Fund to install new central heating systems across their homes, a recent news report has been able to find.

Residents in the West Cornwall towns used to rely on expensive night storage heaters and their homes got colder in the evening when they wanted to be warm.

Those have now been replaced with Air Source Heat Pumps in sixteen homes and the residents have said that they can’t believe the difference this has made to their lives, as for the first time they can warm when they want to be.Six tenants at Coastline Housing’s Edmund Road, Redruth homes welcomed the new heating and being better able to manage their heating for the first time.

Some reported their electric use had reduced by half already and with gas, their home was much warmer.

Building Energy Management Systems are capable of delivering extensive monitoring and control options, compared to basic controls.
