Energy efficiency is becoming increasingly important for local authorities
Local authorities across the UK are becoming increasingly interested in the concept of energy efficiency, most of them actually having some sort of plan set up in order to make the buildings they manage more efficient and cut down on bills.
As a study into this matter, carried out by a group of scientists at Newcastle University, has recently revealed, 100% of local authorities in the 28 urban areas investigated planned to increase energy efficiency in their area.
Furthermore, areas that were obliged to report their progress on climate change mitigation and adaptation were more likely to have highly advanced plans to meet the challenge of climate change.
Oliver Heidrich, one of the authors of the study, said: “Although cities of all sizes across the UK acknowledge climate change is a threat, there is considerable spread of measures in place and huge inconsistency in policy between areas and against national and international targets.”
The HeatingSave system allows home owners to cut energy bills by up to an impressive 30%+. It is built around the idea of optimizing the energy consumption levels within any area with the help of an advanced heat-loss algorithm that creates a specific profile for any building and based on that, switches heating on later if its warm and off earlier if its cold.
Additionally, the automatic occupancy detection allows the temperature to reduce to a background when areas are not used and quickly brought up to temperature when they are being used.
