BEMS to help achieve lower energy bills for public buildings in Edinburgh
Building energy management systems (BEMS) and other energy efficiency measures will help nine public buildings across Edinburgh cut their energy bills by up to 24%, a recent news report has been able to suggest.
The £2.1 million scheme is taking place at council buildings across the city, including seven schools, the Usher Hall and the City Chambers. It is designed to cut energy consumption across all the sites, saving over £330,000 and reducing energy costs by 24%.
Energy efficiency measures will include upgraded Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS), more efficient lighting and equipment upgrades, remote monitoring of heating and ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
The project is being carried out as part of Edinburgh Council’s Sustainable Energy Action Plan, which aims to reduce carbon emissions across the city by over 40% by 2020, and it is being funded mainly through the Salix scheme, which provides interest free energy efficiency loans to the public sector.
HeatingSave Building Energy Management System (BEMS) – helping deliver impressive energy savings for public buildings
Achieving energy savings within the non-domestic sector can be easily achieved by implementing advanced BEMS (Building Energy Management System) solutions, and this is exactly where the HeatingSave system might prove its worth, since our solution allows customers to achieve immediately savings of up to 30%+ on their energy bills.
This is achieved by optimizing the energy consumption levels within any building with the help of an advanced heat-loss algorithm that creates a specific profile for any building and based on that, switches heating on later if it’s warm and off earlier if it’s cold.
It also automatically adjusts your boiler depending on how warm it is outside – save up to another 10%.
Furthermore, the system also offers an advanced automatic occupancy detection system that allows the temperature to reduce to a background when areas are not used and quickly brought up to temperature when they are being used.
