500 Peterborough residents joing money saving energy deal


An energy saving scheme that has helped Peterborough residents save a combined total of £100,000 on their gas and electricity bills has just passed a major milestone as it signed up its 500th customer, a recent news report in the local media has been able to reveal.

Peterborough Energy is a a local energy partnership formed by the city council and national supplier OVO Energy.

The dual and single fuel (electricity only) energy tariffs are exclusive to residents with Peterborough local authority area postcodes and the fixed tariff is in the top five cheapest available according to the consumer advice publication Which?. Residents could save an average of £252 on their energy bills.

A spokesperson for OVO Energy said: “We are very pleased with the take up of Peterborough Energy within the city, and to collectively save residents an average of £100,000 in just a matter of months is quite an achievement. We look forward to working with Peterborough City Council to continue building on these early successes for the energy partnership.”
